Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrive in Managua (Feb 7, 2026)

Welcome to Nicaragua Land of Lakes and Volcanoes! 

You arrive at Managua Airport, after migrations and customs procedures you are welcomed by a representative, who will provide a welcome package with the information you need for the following days, and then shuttle transfer to your hotel. 

Transfer : Shuttle Managua Airport - Managua Hotel - Road is in very good condition. 

Average travel time: 25 minutes 

Nicaragua's capital city is home to almost two million people, and is the heartbeat of the nation's culture and commerce. Managua hosts the country's main airport and is the starting point for many Nicaraguan vacations, but it's worth spending a couple of days exploring what the city has to offer, with a vibrant dining and nightlife scene, buzzing markets and impressive revolutionary landmarks. There's a selection of good quality hotels, and popular daytrips include the nearby Chocoyero-El Brujo Natural Reserve and the spectacular Masaya Volcano National Park.

Day 2 — Managua to Granada (Feb 8, 2026)

After breakfast, you will meet your local guide at the reception to prepare you and give you directions for today's visit. The guide together with the driver will take you on an exciting experience to take you to the dormant Mombacho Volcano, located 10 km from the city of Granada. Upon arrival at the volcano you will climb up to a certain point on the volcano to begin a short hike on the volcano's trails, passing through the incredible cloud forests on its slopes. Observe from the top of the volcano the panoramic views that the volcano offers you. 

Then you will continue to Masaya Volcano National Park. Access to the crater has recently reopened, allowing visitors to stay at the summit for up to 5 minutes due to ongoing volcanic activity. From this vantage point, you'll witness the mesmerizing incandescence within the crater. 

Finish your day enjoying the pristine surroundings and relax at Apoyo lagoon as the lodge is ideally located on the shore of the crater lagoon so you can enjoy a tasty lunch, swim or a kayak ride. Daypass to the Lagoon is included. 

Overnight in Granada 

Accommodation – the Hotel Plaza Colon, superior room no balcony with breakfast daily 

Day 3 — Granada to Estelí (Feb 9, 2026)

Today we travel to the north region of Nicaragua, to the Jalapa region. Visit Coffee Farms all day along with the transfer. Cigar Factory Tour within Esteli will be included upon request.

Overnight in Esteli Accommodation – the Hotel Los Arcos, standard room with breakfast daily 

Day 4 — Estelí to Somoto (Feb 10, 2026)

Spend today visiting coffee farms in the Mogoton region and transfer to your hotel in Somoto.

Accommodation – the Hotel Lever, standard room with breakfast daily 

Day 5 — Somoto (Feb 11, 2026)

Spend today visiting coffee farms in the Dipilto region. 

Overnight in Somoto 

Day 6 — Somoto to Managua (Feb 12, 2026)

Spend today visiting coffee farms in the Pueblo Nuevo region. Afterwards, transfer to Managua for the last night.

Day 7 — Departure (Feb 13, 2026)

Your Nicaragua experience has come to an end. Hotel shuttle to the airport and connect to onward travel. We hope you enjoyed your time in Nicaragua!
