Tracing our coffee journey

At Green Haven Imports, our journey isn't just about coffee beans; it's an embrace of human connections that span distances and time. The Diaz family from Ocotal, Nicaragua, aren’t merely suppliers; they are kindred spirits who infuse tradition, innovation, and an unbreakable community spirit into their craft.

Across generations, their commitment to excellence has remained unwavering. Venturing into micro lots and experimenting with diverse processing techniques, they've produced exciting results that has set the pathway for more growth and sustainability.

Our third harvest working together, we committed to 10,000 lbs in total

Amidst the height of the Covid Pandemic of 2021, we virtually met the Diaz family, their dedication and profound appreciation for true specialty coffee shone through the screen, and we were convinced that they would be ideal partners. This was the first and only time that we’ve sourced coffee without visiting the family or estate, however the feeling of comfort and trust never wavered- allowing us to always be comfortable in sourcing from them.

In 2023, a profound moment unfolded. We stood on their land, breathing in the same air that nurtures their beans. Meeting face-to-face, we shared more than just words – we shared a deep understanding of our shared journey. Little did we know, it would be the last time we stood together before Juan Ramon Diaz Sr. passed away.

Today, as we remember him, we honour a visionary. His devotion enriched not just the coffee, but also his community... This collaboration isn't just about beans; it's about preserving a legacy, embracing innovation, and nurturing a community that thrives from the generosity and perseverance of families like the Diaz family.
